HELLO, of course I always used distilled water in all my batteries. But now with this virus in my area there is NO WATER, NOT EVEN DISTILLED>>> So my batteries are in need of some water... Is it ok to use the drinking water that we get from those 25 cent machines. I would think its better than our water he in AZ from the faucet ... I also have a reverse osmosis water system in the house.... so before I add anything I am looking for any suggestions as to what is better to use or does anyone have any other ideas???As usually thank you all again for any ideas.....

Unless the plates are exposed, I would avoid using normal water at all costs.

Borrow some distilled water from a neighbor. In the future adopt my method of only purchasing distilled water for use in the RV....drinking, batteries etc. Everything except the fresh water tank. Wish I was near you..l’ve got 3 1/2 gallons onboard.

If there is a way you can catch, funnel and gather the steam when boiling water, that's distilled water.Just don't use anything metallic for the funnel.

If you were close by I would offer you a gallon I have. Maybe someone close will offer....Ask your store when the next delivery is. Or look up a battery distributor to call and check.

I get my distilled water from one of the larger water stores. They have their own distiller on site. Usually they have enough in the tank to dispense, but sometime they may have a run so you may have to wait awhile for another gallon to be finished. They also prepackaged a few gallons and have them sitting by the dispenser.

Thanks for the suggestions by all... I did try a couple auto stores (oriely's , auto zone etc) in my area and none have the water... Tomorrow I will try a few auto stores 20 or 30 miles away and see what they have. if nothing than I guess I will top them off slightly just to cover the plates with the machine water and hope I can find some distilled in the next couple weeks... My home RO system produces water that measures 2 ppm of total dissolved solids. Yours is likely comparable. I've been topping off batteries with it for years.
Your batteries will be happy as can be with RO water.

One of the local Walmarts had some bottled water a couple of days ago, it may have been spring water tho. Most of what they sell is. The trick is to get there around the time that they open the place, they restock at night and if you beat the idiots into the place you might find some

go to a battery store and see if they have any, if not my rv batteries have oil added to them to protect the plates when the water is low, you can ask about that, they might sell it.
