I have been trying to figure out what batteries to use on a 2800 watt Outback inverter, I was planning six Lifeline GPL 30HT for a total of 900ah. I started looking a Battle born and think I have decided to go with LiFeP04 batteries, I basically have room for two 8Ds. This would give me 540ah with two of Battle Borns 270ah BB8D batteries. Probably buy one and see how it works and then another at a later date. Only thing I am worried about is redundancy, I could use six of their 100ah. Opinions?

Look at Lifeblue batteries also and compare $$. They have 100, 200, 300ah batteries and if cold temp is an issue they have batteries with warmers in them.

If I understand you, you plan to mix batteries with different chemistry in the bank powering your inverter. This is a no-no. Either go all one or all the other. They should all also be of the same age, and they need to all be at the same state of charge when you put them together.

Battle Born maybe be the "Cadillac" of LiFeP04, but they are GROSSLY overcharging.Read some of Will Prowse reviews on YouTube,

I would try not to go more than four in parallel. Two in parallel would be my preference.

This is mounted in my truck and will power a commercial cap for work during the week and power the camper on the weekends. I have work tools that will be 250 amps plus.

Because it has a good reputation and people don't know there are lesser known alternatives.

Hi Itnerant1,

My microwave draws 176 amps. My air conditioner, on a hot day draws up to 160 amps.

It is not a problem as my inverter tops out at 250 amps (3000 watts), so I can't run 2 major items at once.

That is a LOT of battery but for reasons that have nothing to do with this thread I'd like to know how much those puppies weigh. (DOn't bother I will find out before you read this).

I'd say the BB8D's are a good choice. Lighter in weight than lead acid. you can use nearly all the power in 'em I keep hearing good things about em.. Your inverter, if an inverter/charger, should not re-fill them overly fast.. or you can put in a progressive dynamics made specific for the BB batteries.

That was the point I guess I was trying to say without actually coming out and saying it.

The inverter is going to be the limiting factor and the op said a 2,800w inverter. Heck my batteries will will do 3c continously or 1500a, doesn't do much good if the inverter and other components won't allow it though.
