I thought he said he was using a generator, if his generator is running poorly maybe that's effecting it?
It would be interesting to see what his incoming voltage is and if it's lower than 120v, is it constant/ steady voltage? I've never used a converter charger.
Both my inverter/ charger & PT controller are Magnum which are linked in settings so they follow exactly the same.
The following parameters are for programming the ME-ARC Version 4 advanced control.
Setup 02B LBCO Setting: Volts = 12.0
Setup 03C Battery Type: = Custom
Set Absorb Volts: = 14.1
Set Float Volts: = 13.6
Set EQ Volts: = 14.1
Set EQ Done Time: = 0.1
Setup 03D Absorb Done Time: = 0.1 (minimum)
Setup 03E Max Charge Rate: = 100%
Setup 03G Final Charge Stage: = Float
If using IC I'll set incoming ac from generator so 100a will charge steady almost all the way to 100%, once it gets to 96-98% it will start dropin some current but not alot.
When using solar it will be the same except at a lower current depending on what's being used in the 5th wheel, for instance this time of the year in the morning after making a couple pots of coffee (12 cup Mr Coffee) and using the microwave for breakfast (roughly 4 minutes) and nightly draws my SoC will read 60% +/-. If the sun is out at 70% (09:30 +/-) I'll turn the fridge over to electric from propane for the rest of the day. When the fridge is on with other misc draw items it be drawing 40a and 20a charging into the batteries, when fridge cycles off there will be roughly 50a charging the batteries. This cycle stays like this right up to full capacity and switches over to float, roughly 2-2:30pm.
If I were to switch everything off except the bare minimum we use it would dump what ever current being produced into the batteries right up to 98-99?. My solar will max out at 75-80a so a steady 60-65a could be charging depending on sun. It's been this way since the day the system was installed.
I have had one system shutdown due to cold and low SoC this past Nov after a generator wouldn't start/ poor solar conditions. Not the end of the world just a couple day of discomfort.
