- dybExplorerThe reason I ask about play is I had new tires installed today. I ask the installer to check for bearing play and one wheel had very very slight play in it. He said it didn't need to be tighten at this point.

Should there be any play in tt wheel due to wheel bearings.
They will normally have a very slight amount of play. The Dexter instructions show how to adjust. - ScottGNomadNo, if there is then the nut should be tightened to the next hole.
If there's any play at all the load will be transferred to only a few of the needles at a time as the wheel spins.
If there wasn't play there before then the bearings and races have probably worn.
