Best place to install ARP 2.1 Control Unit?

Hello,

Just purchased the ARP 2.1 unit to add to my frig cooling unit replacement project. The instructions state the control unit can be installed on the back of the frig (outside access) or inside by the frig. If installed inside wiring will have to be extended.

For those of you that have this what is the best place for me to install this and why?

I am also adding two fans to back of frig that unit will control as well as a baffle to direct air over cooling fins. Anything else that I can do to make this as bulletproof as possible? The frig is not in a slideout.

Thanks!

Dave

  • Dave,

It displays the boiler temperature. That lets me know the fridge is working. I did get the 2.1 but already had thermostatically controlled fans, so I don't use that part.

I still turn the fridge off if I can't find a fairly level spot for parking--but I no longer get frantic about it.

    OP Here,

Just curious what is there to see on the control unit? I'm familiar with what it does etc. but what does the unit actually display?

    Thanks!

Why..........ease of wiring, if doing any checks/tests it is right there, no interaction needed once installed, after novelty wears off you won't even look at it

Mines the same as Old-Biscuit's. Neat and easy.

  • Seems like it would be more convenient to have it inside the fridge, but it will also take up a little space. I put a fan in our fridge and it kept the fridge from getting cold! My fridge hated the fan and I've had better cooling without it.
