Modern refrigerators all seem to use tiny pumps and rely on extremely good insulation to keep things cold. That's why they often recommend you give the fridge 24 hours to cool down. I don't see any reason not to go as big as you can, but definitely avoid the ice maker. Power consumption ratings on Auto defrost is definitely a power hog, but I recall finding some DIY threads for disabling auto-defrost if you can't find one without it.
