I have a 3" crack in the aluminum siding. The top of the garage door was bent by prior owner and made the crack. I thought about trying JB weld for aluminum. I realize the best way would be to replace the panel that's affected. Since cold weather is quickly approaching and it's a top panel requiring the removal of all the panels below it I don't want to take it on. Any ideas?

Hi,If you get a warm day or have a hair drier--Eternabond would work.

First, drill a small diameter hole, around 1/8" or smaller, on either end of the crack. The hole will relieve the stress and, at the least, stop it from quickly becoming a longer crack. JB weld sounds good to me for the cover up.RichH

Instead of a hair dryer how about a heat gun. I just bought one at Amazon for $20 and it produces much more heat than a hair dryer.

BFL13 You did give me a idea. After the repair since it's a garage door in the trailer I will put a led loading light to cover the small repair.
