Big LED System

This is kind of OT, but the Super Bowl will be lit completely with LEDs-

The University of Phoenix Stadium, where the big game is being played, recently upgraded over 780 metal halide fixtures with 44,928 Cree XLamp MK-R LEDs, courtesy of Cree and Ephesus Lighting. And while it sounds like the new setup would draw far more power, it turns out those LED fixtures need a mere 310,000 watts of power to glow, compared to the 1.24 million watts required by the metal halide bulbs.

  • Really like any all all things LED. Have replaced all of those ridiculous CFL's that they forced on us at home with LED's.
  • The city of LA is replacing old street lamps with LED fixtures
They started several years ago, all new street lamp installs are LED and old fixtures are also being replaced with new LED lamps
  • I will recommend one of these fixtures next time someone is looking to get some scare lights for the RV :B
  • The LED lights are amazing. I have a couple of LED work lights that I recently used during a renovation on my home. They throw just as much light as the old halogen work lights and I dont have to worry about accidentally searing my hands if I get too close!
