Probably does not apply here, but there is an old story from 100 years ago about a British submarine in WW1, where both the captain and first lieutenant were seriously constipated.
Every morning while surfaced, each would assume a position hanging out from the conning tower on opposite sides to do his business. Each was aware of the other's difficulties and sympathised.
One such morning as each was over on his side of the conning tower, hanging out, there was a loud clang from something hitting the top of the ballast tank on the captain's side. (The captain had somehow dropped his binoculars.)
"Well done, Sir," said the first lieutenant!
