The quietest of them all are mobile movie set generators. Square boxes the size of a 24' pull trailer. Stand next to one and whisper to someone ten feet away. Quieter than a Fantastic fan on # 1 setting. It takes money and efficiency loss to get that quiet. I have been around half million dollar bus conversions that had near-silent diesel gensets. Only the odor gave them away.
