8 hours sounds like the break in period, first run
Run it 8 under medium load change oil
Change it once every 6 months if it is just sitting in the garage and only run occasionally, did not get to 100 hours
If being used in daily or weekly service, change oil every 100 hours
Sounds like they forgot the descriptions that go with the chart
The above could be considered fairly typical
