Drill the ends and suggested above. Then with an eighth inch diameter drill put a line of holes alongside BOTH sides of the split.
Buy a tube of GOOP it does not matter what it says on the tube all the same stuff.
FORCE the GOOP into the holes and along the split. Let it dry 24 hours. Apply a second coat. Make it THICK. Dry another 24 hours. Stick the neck of the GOOP tube right against the holes and right against the split.
Been there done that with the tote. My repair lasted eight years and I sold the tote that way.
