First, why do you want to put "New Brakes"
Electric brakes on trailers consist of basically two major consumables (plus a few secondary ones)
There is the magnet.. And the Brake Shoes (These are identical in function and form to the shoes used on cars prior to 4-wheel disc brakes). I have never seen a comparison of different brands but I have of different compositions.
Alas. I can not repost that info as I have not re-looked for it.
As for the controllers.. I'm partial to Tekonsha.. (But then I grew up in Tekonsha, yes, it's a township/village in South Central Southern Michigan I-69 and M-60 on your map.. Break out the magnifier to see the dot, I lived N.W. of that intersection. Carmichael's Propane tank farm is now on that site).
The secondary items are adjusters. springs and the like, Like the shoes, these are the same as they used to use on cars.
