Brakes overheated, could the bearing be the cause

One of the most common problems is the parking brake. They are cable and the cable rust ect. Also they should never be set when parking long term as they will rust in place and not release. I think I would check into the parking brake cables for rust. Many can just be lubed and worked a number of times to free them up. But also could be the bearing,ect as others said. But if its a one time thing and you do set the parking brake every time you park I will lean to the parking brake cables.
