Can the bucker step up? I wonder if the panel can make more watts than needed if the panel output walks down the power curve to a voltage less than float?
The way my controller does this is PWM, disconnecting the panel so panel volts goes to Voc and zero power and then back to float voltage then back to Voc. I can only assume the panel gets hotter during float.
