bugs in the black water tank

I noticed that when I flushed the toilet, small flies would rise up out of it. I removed the toilet and found lots and lots of bug eggs stuck to its insides. I disassembled the toilet, cleaned it up, and installed new seals... but I'm sure there must be more eggs inside the tank. Is there some kind of smoke bomb that I could drop into the tank that would kill the bugs and their eggs?

    Anything that deadly would be bad for the septic systems you dump into
    They will die a natural death if you flush the tank good and leave it dry for awhile
    To prevent a reinfestation leave a dip in part of your sewer hose when connected to make a water seal between you and the dump/sewer
