Building a hinged pair of portable solar panels

Has anyone built their own pair of hinged panels to sit angled on the ground? I have a pair of panels I'd like to put together like that. I've looked at a couple of commercial offerings on Youtube an...

If you have a Menards store in your area, they sell a pair of 3" stainless steel hinges for $9 (or so). I used them for part of my module tilt mechanism.
