Cabover/Euroloft Bed - Suspension Strap Broke

While driving out to the coast for the weekend, I heard a noise above my head and a part fell to the floor. The part was the plastic cover to the strap mechanism. The loft bed had dropped down and was dangling. The corner strap (looks like a nylon seatbelt strap) had torn all of the way through. This is the strap that raises and lowers the bed on the drivers side, close to the slide out. It has four corner straps. Fortunately, the bed didn’t hit me in the head while I was driving or have this happen when someone was sleeping on it. I’d like to be able to fix it myself. Has anyone had this happen and how was it repaired? I’m giving thought to removing the bed completely.
