Nikon just uses DX to means that it is for APS-C size sensors. for some reason they refuse to acknowledge that APS-C exists. I called with some question on the D5200 and the lady pleaded ignorance when I used that term. :)
and with that lens you still have to switch back and forth, which you avoid with the 18-270. well I do have to switch if I want to put on my 8-16 however.
