Get a heavy extension cord, nice and thick as short as possible. Have a dedicated 20 amp (minimum) plug and try again.
Measure voltage in the camper while the compressor is on and see what you have. If its below 110 you need a bigger (lower gauge) cord.
A 10ga cord WILL NOT cut it. You will overheat AND damage the AC due to the lower voltage.
If the cord is warm at all, you need a bigger cord.
NEVER try to run much else when the AC is on in this configuration.
