I'm with Corkey. Since you can drive around town at 45mph with no trouble, but at highway speeds you do have trouble, the speed difference suggests the vacuum buildup behind the trailer at speed is the problem. What will happen is the air pressure gets lowered behind the trailer. That makes it more difficult for the fans to deliver cooling air to the generators, they overload and shut down.
Remediation would require getting air into the generator compartment. I wonder if it would be possible to have flexible duct leading air from the top rear edge of the trailer down into the fans?
Even if only for a test, leading roof air down to the fans in the Genny box would be informative.
