For what it is worth, yes the fan and the compressor both shut down after running for about a minute, and then they both restarted after being off for about ten seconds, and then shut down after ten more seconds, and then I switched everything off.
And no, I was not using a dog bone -- this is a very simple little one-piece adapter that enables me to plug the 30 amp cord into an ordinary 3 prong outlet. This arrangement easily runs everything in the trailer, but not the a/c!
Is your water heater AC switch on? In the past I've thought that nothing else was on but the WH was and caused power problems due to the surge on AC start. (I didn't read all the posts, so if this was mentioned, I apologize.)
