Can't turn stove knobs

Haven't used the stove in a while. Go to heat up a can of soup, and I can't turn the knobs. Typical push in and twist setup - except they'll push in, but not turn. Pulled a knob off & tried the Gerber - any harder twisting, and I'm afraid I'll bend the knob seat.

Any ideas? Getting hungry.
  • Drops of lighter fluid. The refinery valve lube oil congealed on top of the o-rings. But wait! The naptha cure is being sneered at. OK I'll save my breath. Adios.

I, too, would try turning clockwise.

Yeah, I didn't think of that before posting a stupid question on the interwebs. Oh wait, yes, I did, and it still doesn't turn. And the label on the stove indicates the knob should turn counter-clockwise, like it has for the last 10 years I've owned my RV.

Any other helpful suggestions other than pouring lighter fluid on it, or should I ask 4-Chan to intercede for me with Kek?

I am an Aggie, but no. I'm pushing down, and turning it in a counter-clockwise direction.

    Try turning it clockwise.

Ate canned salmon instead of hot soup. Will add to the list of repairs needed. Thanks, folks.
  • Cigarette lighter fluid. The path is horizontal but what is a person to do? Keep applying lighter fluid.
