I need to start using my new IR gun, for sure, though. I especially want to look at what the temps are doing when the current plateaus and then rises during that ~95% range. It'll be interesting to see if it happens while charging with solar, as well.
A hand on the side of the case, which is what I sometimes use, isn't very scientific, but my main concern is that my batteries don't feel warm to the touch. So far, so good, if top charged with a solar panel setup rated at a C/15 to C/20 rating. Even with doing an equalize charge to 16.0V, with my 150w solar panel with 8.5 amps capacity, temp never gets warm on the battery. Your GC-2's are far more foregiving of abuse and being easier to recharge, than a T-1275. But when a pair of T-1275's are free, you learn to live with the baby sitting they sometimes require.
