So many moving targets... so little time. :(
I like the Tri for it's amps, in and out, and its Ah countdown; but other than that, I find it of no practical use. I think a device that monitored SG would be much more useful, by leaps and bounds. But even then, ol' Peukert (or "Ralphy", as I like to call him) would still have his say... at least on the discharge side of things. So Ah countdown for determining DOD, and automated SG readings for determining full SOC.
I think one issue one may encounter when charging with solar, is the fact the system may be producing less power than the bank could otherwise accept, and thus make it appear as though the bank is closer to being full then it really is. So, again, the SG monitor would have the final say.
