I said, "This does not happen when the pm shuts down after its 15 minute boost thing. Perhaps it only zeros out over 100%?" ... My bad. I realized a while after posting that, IF the criteria (P1 & P2) for 'fully charged' are met, and charging ceases, the meter will zero out... dah!
BFL, One of the biggest decisions to make when building this thing was whether to have a dinette/bed, couch/bed, or just a bed. I did go with the dinette, but I never use it. One happy surprise I encountered late in the build, was the fact I could have a computer desk of sorts, by simply extending out the top of the hwh cabinet. It doubles as a place to sit and eat... while on the computer... perfect! And the space under the table works great for hiding my kayak, laundry, and garbage/recycling containers.
Funny, if you saw my rig, 'retro' may be the first word that comes to mind... I went with recreation white with dark brown stripes, and tinted rv windows.
I would rather have the controller completely out of the weather, inside the camper, but then there's the added heat it will put off (nice in the cooler months, though). And then there are wiring issues. Actually, as it is, the charger cabinet stays surprisingly clean and dry. In fact, anytime I pull the lid off the pm4b, it's very clean inside. But I do occasionally clean the cabinet, anyway. But I may have to be careful not to run the fans in rainy weather.
Thanks for the heads up on the auto zeroing with solar. I think Bend mentioned that before, but I couldn't remember what the issue was with solar and the Trimetric. So, without the auto-reset turned on, Ah's will simply count up and down, until such time as I zero it out manually; as in when the bank is full?
