Ceramic Tower Heater Woes

Will it turn on when you plug it in, or does it default to off?

If it comes on, you can use an in line thermostat on the power cord.

Usually these things are throw away items and not worth the cost of fixing. You could look on line for a replacement stat/controller or call customer service if there is a number for them, then they would just send you to the nearest service center. Easier to just go shopping.

good idea Gordon. I already have an inline thermostat on the heater in the fake fireplace. Don't know if it practical but will ponder that.

If you haven't already, take an air nozzle to it and blow it out. Mine was totally plugged with dust when I took it apart. It's still broken and since replaced, but if I would have blown it out every so often it would still likely be running.

Throw away junk but while it's doing it's part at being junk set it on something like the open oven door so it doesn't burn the rig down if it goes into melt down.

Idiotic resource depletion wins every time...



Anything labelled SMART is likely something BROWN as far as value is concerned.

Can you UNPLUG the heater, turn it upside down take off the cover then take some close-up images then post them?

If a radiant heater, care must be taken when modifying so as to not bypass the tipover safety switch.

A LINE VOLTAGE DIAL THERMOSTAT CAN BE USED but it's going to sit on the floor where all the cold air resides.

I was near the Imperial dunes and watched the New Years crowd heading home in a constant stream of jacked up fuel guzzing 4x4's pulling tri axle TH. I was passed by motor home after motor home pulling huge enclosed trailers or tri axle stacker trailers. We dont have energy problems and we sure dont have any environmental concerns. ZERO.
