I have the same genny. It starts my 15k fine. I always start the fan before I start the compressor. That way it's not trying to start 2 loads at the same time. It will start my 13.5k up to about 5000 feet, but anything above that it will overload. I believe it is because it's trying to start the compressor & fan at the same time. I do have hard starts on both.
