Update! It came yesterday. I had to go buy the oil and a new gas can. So I fired it up about 8pm. Ran it for a while with no load. It is as promised. low noise. I'd say that it is a little louder than my Honda 3000 was. But not by much. It did have a broken air filter latch. I'd heard this was a common problem a few years back. So I'll call them and see if the warranty is valid on Monday. I'll order a new air filter base whether I have to pay for it or not.
However, I am wishing I had found out about the dual fuel Champion generators before I ordered this one. It would be about $300 or $400 more. But a small propane tank will run it for about 20 hours. It also comes in a 3400 watt variety. Tough call. I don't think I'll use it enough to justify the extra expense. Four more weeks 'til retirement. We will use it then!
