I have had the 3500/4000 Champion, also. I have had it going on 4 years! I have it mounted in the back of my 1 ton Dodge. We boon dock camp all of the time. Watch a movie at night to keep the batteries charged. It charges clean and we use our laptop with no problem. It uses very little gas unless you use the AC. Pretty quiet and uses no oil! Starts on 1st pull. I bought before they came out with a remote! A remote would be good! I am amazed at how good the generator is and being cheap!
I had one too. Remote start and I converted it to propane which was a big mistake. I also built an enclosure for it which helped a little. Another mistake was mounting it on the TT rear bumper as it vibrated too much. For the money they are an excellent value. For noise they are not so good. It is lightweight enough that you can get a long cord and put it over in your neighbors site:).
