Whether one buys expensive LED replacement bulbs, or cheap E-Bay bulbs, I have yet to read that anyone was disappointed or felt it was a waste of time and money.
We bought the cheap E-bay replacements. I got 15 bulbs for $21. If one or more burns out prematurely, so what? So far they are excellent and don't interfere with TV signals because they don't have the resisters. Our biggest motivation was not power savings because we never boon dock. It was heat. Just sitting on the couch with the light on over head you could feel the heat off it from 10 inches away! Now you have to put your hand on the light to feel any heat, which is very little. And our convertor fan barley spins now when we turn on our main lights.
