A hinged one would be nice. I am glad to hear the Fantastic lid is long lasting. It was the first to go on my RV . . . but a roof rake for snow did it.
This cover was a bargain at $20. I put it on the vent with no fan that is over the bed and awkward for DW to close. We probably will leave it open all the time now that it has a cover. I hope it doesn't interfere with ventilation at night.

Installation was a little more trouble than a lid - drill four holes in the side of the vent base to attach the metal pieces that the cover mounts on with another four bolts.
