Charge Batteries by Idling Tow Vehicle?
This may be a dumb question, but since every tow vehicle has a generator which is connected to the batteries and they charge while driving, how about hooking up and charging at the campsite while idli...

Hookup-Less Camping, is a horse of a different color. I always consider my neighbors. When overnighting in an RV park with a crack-of-dawn departure, I park as close to the exit as I can. No generator. But then again I have always had an aversion to setting up camp in my living room. But I had to chuckle at the official rules at Englishman Falls B.C.. No running the generator. The place was 100% deserted.
But then that's part of why I bailed-out of the United States. Substitution of Common Sense, with regulations-absolute for senseless people. That's why I placed my generator shed where I did, so the exhaust never, ever, blows toward neighbors, however distant. I asked and they responded. On a dead quiet day even 10-year old children cannot hear my generator from their house. It makes for a 100-meter walk but I was overcome with a fit of Common Sense & Consideration. Even down here, where if a person is quiet, the neighbors will think you're sick, or dead.
