Sorry just saw your specific question
Me - I would NOT wire it together with the converter for a number of reasons
1 - Serviceability remember the controlller gets it's operational power from the battery connection - if you need to reboot or isolate the controller for some reason while the converter is operational you are out of luck
2 - What about a fuse or breaker specific for each device - what were you planning?
3 - Brain fart - just lost the last few ideas as to why not
