Does it matter where you attach them ... Only that the go on the proper polarity, you may connect at any point with the proper polarity.
Exception is you need to be on the non-battery side of your tri-metric shunt.
You may not be able to use the top amp setting (usually that is for short time use only) and at 20 amps it will take all day to charge those batteries and then some.
