What I was thinking of doing is to keep the new charger in my passthrough but not mount it. Keep it in a container to protect it while not in use. Using a pair of 4gauge jumper cables that I already have, cut off one end of the clamps and use it to attach to the charger and batteries. During inclement weather when I need to charge the batteries, I can just take it out of the container and leave it in the passthrough while charging and when the weather is good, I can pull it out and place it next to the batteries so I can keep the passthrough closed. The reason for this idea is because we have a lot of stuff we keep in our passthrough so if I permanently mounted it, I would always have to be mindful that I don't damage it unless I mounted it upside down on the ceiling of the passthrough.
