Charging AGM Batteries

I was looking for info on trying to charge, recharge AGM Batteries. If a convenional automatic charger is set to the deep cycle 2 amp setting, will this over charge the AGM Battery? Constructive comments would be appreciated. I did a query on charging agm batteries but didn't see any posts.
Thanks
David
  • I have read on a previous website that the AGM Batteries had a charge of around 2.4 volts max in each cell. The poster said that a conventional charger would start out at a much higher volt rate causing the battery to over charge. I have no idea. thought I would canvas the Forum an see if someone knew if there was a need to change the charge method when considering the AGM Battery vs Lead Acid Batteries.
  • My experience AGM prefers a fairly fast charge into the 14.6 volt range.
Two amps would more likely undercharge the AGM.
  • my AGm's charge like regular flooded wet cell batteries

GEL batteries require special charging setup

i'm sure you will get a much more responses
