Hi RJ,
I don't see anywhere close to 100 amps going to the house batteries from the 130 amp alternator on my V-10. My dual paths are each #8 wire so even at extremely high heat that is not what is limiting the current.
RJ, what size is your alternator?
The PD will output near its maximum rating only if the generator is working correctly, and the PD is also working correctly, and the wire size from the PD to the battery bank is large enough.
That is why I suggested trying it on shore power. If the PD works well on shore power then something may be wrong with the output from the Onan. If it doesn't then the PD may be faulty.
Salvo has mentioned that the PD needs a clean 120 volt power source to produce full output.
You need to calm down RJ.
