I occasionally see currents closer to 30 amps but that is usually when I am running the microwave...which is really the only time I run the motor. Like I say, I kinda use it as our generator. Having said that once we start it we usually run it for 10 or 15 minutes or so after the high load item, Microwave, toaster etc. and the current drops off from 30 down to the 20's pretty quick. After that we turn it off and leave it up to the 320 watt solar array.
