IMHO, that's an excellent way to use your V10. I believe Ford E-Series ambulances do kindof the same thing regarding long idling runs of the V10 to supply vehicle equipment power.
I find that idling the V10 for lunch-stop cab system cooling of the entire coach area and for initial campsite battery charging turns out to be super quiet and vibration-free. It's especially good for very stealthy battery charging in non-sun situations if you are in campgrounds with high noise sensitivity - like in tent camping areas where you can fit in your RV. We have both a quietly installed Onan and an ultra-quiet portable generator - but the idling V10 with it's 130 amp alternator beats them both on being a convenient low noise, any-situation power source. Why not use it if you have it.
