I have a Bluesky 2512i with the IPN pro remote which allows me to adjust the voltage setpoints, and durations and threshholds.
I can set the time at absorption voltage, but I also can set the "Float current"
I used to think this was: Ok I'll let it have 4 amps at 13.6v, but basically when I set it at 4 amps (per 100A/h) as soon as it took less than 4 amps to hold acceptance voltage it would revert to float mode. So it basically reverted to float mode immediately upon reaching ABSv, and the batteries were chronically undercharged.
Now I have it set at 1 amp, and 14.9ABsv or 2.5 hours at Absv, and once it requires less than 1.3 amps( 130 amp hour USBattery group 31), to maintain 14.9v or 2.5 hours have passed, then it goes to float mode, which I have set at 15.3v.
But I cycle my batteries daily and I consider the "float" stage as a 'finishing' charge stage, and even with a few hours at 15.3v a day, the SG does not return to baseline on this particular petulant 12v USbattery after 7+ cycles. For storage, not cycling, I would set float to 13.1v as recommended by USbattery.
Does USbattery give a specific charging algorithm for their GC-2's?
I've been going with this PDF from USbattery, and 15.3v is mentioned more than once.
