0.5% of 255 AH is 1.275 amps. Charge them at 14.4v until amps required to maintain 14.4v drop to this level. It will likely take 2 more hours from the 4 amp level. That tapering is very slow at the end, in my observations on my june 2015 manufactured gpl-31xt.
