New, each 8-D is $675 I am told. That's why I'm interested in learning to maintain these for as long as possible. I whine about buying what's needed but even I know it's cheaper than replacing them.

Hopefully by the time I wear out or kill the Lifelines, Lifepo4 will be a affordable option. Hopefully that will be a longggg time.
They do seem to have mellowed over there. Oddly the other one has gotten a bit crustier.
I hope to get at least one more trip in before I mount the gear, that is if I can get the phone to stop ringing and go camping.
