Yes, Jim, and in my case, I'm estimating I will only need 140w of solar from mid to late summer, when mppt would be better, but just not needed, so pwm would be best, then. But come late fall to early spring, I'll need at least 280w; more like 420w really; and every drop of juice I can extract, so the mppt would be the way to go, then.
So, in my particular case, I could see me using mppt; along with the additional panel(s); half the year.
