Since you installed new drums I would be suspicious that they were not washed properly or were stored in a dirty environment before being shipped to you. It is unlikely that any bearing, no matter where made, would have survived if there was significant particulate matter/debris at install.
You don't know Lynnmor. I've been to his shop. I would rather have surgery in his machine shop than in a hospital.
I've seen him make parts that have closer tolerances than you can imagine.
I guarantee no one could get those bearings any cleaner than he did when installed.
