If you ever get a chance to look at a heavy duty truck manual transmission or differential, look at the bearings major vehicle manufacturers specify for these applications. These applications tend to be extreme heavy duty, high reliability, tight tolerance applications. Some use American, some use Asian, some use European, some use Mexican, some use others. Most are capable of manufacturing excellent quality, IF YOU SPECIFY IT AND IF THEY WANT TO.

I agree with 04fxsts. A truer statement has never been made. When the cat is away, the mice will play. In todays world, many are trying to save/make a buck at the expense of others. As a consumer, YOU have to put the responsibility on yourself to NOT get sucked into bait and switch games.
And then, sometimes you just get unlucky. Even the best manufacturers don't inspect every production part!
