In the day if you were asked what time it was you might have answered, "Quarter of eight."

Now it is, "17 minutes before eight."

Same with the transition from Slide Rule to Calculator. In the day, two ten ohm resistors in parallel were 5 ohms. Now the student says it is 5.000 ohms - the +/- 10% applies to both. lol
