I use a digital readout, NIST-constantly-calibrated, plug-in with battery backup clock next to my bed. In addition to it's unusual "lit" LCD readout panel (for night reading) facing out the front - it also projects big red time numerals onto the bedroom ceiling. The ceiling projection of time is pure genious, IMHO. The batteries seem to last forever because power outages are rare enough such that the batteries don't get used much.
Now ... if only I could find a similar clock that projected an ANALOG clock face onto the ceiling instead of digital numerals ... nirvana. :C
