The OP's rig is 2 yrs old which in turn means he has a combination CO / propane detector. It's hard wired to the rig's 12 vdc system so the first thing to do is confirm battery voltage is what it should be. That done, assuming the problem persists, replace the alarm and
only if the problem still continues would I then be concerned about the "why". ;)
