Most household model CO detectors are plug in models with battery backup, which is only good for a few days of power.

I replaced mine with a dual-function household battery operated detector (smoke and CO), and also the aging original smoke detector at the other end of the RV.

Vibration shouldn't be a big problem as the circuit boards are constructed pretty much the same way, with parts soldered on in place. Extreme cold in storage seems to me not much of a concern in as much as nobody is there to need to hear the alarm and get out. Units with non-replacable batteries may not last as well due to the battery wearing out prematurely, I suppose. (The same probably goes for replaceable batteries, but they're easy enough to check and replace if needed before heading out on a trip.)

True, but the detectors have no way to know when they go nose blinds, so they have timers to tell when they should be replaced based upon expected time the sensor should last.

If the "Replace" LED shines, there's really nothing more to it. They do have a very finite life so the fact that they die at the same time isn't too surprising .

It seems like I read somewhere that the detector has a timer that starts at first power up. That would make it highly likely that they would both start beeping at the same time.

I replaced mine (propane / CO) last month. Says right on the front of mine to replace every 60 months. When I pulled and checked I found mine were 96 months but not beeping. I suspect my trailer was stored during winter without a battery so I had no way of knowing whether they would work or not. Due to the age I didn't even bother to test them, just replaced. Also replaced the battery operated smoke detectors.

Low voltage doesn't kill these detectors, it causes them to alarm to warn you of low battery voltage.
